Just a Quick Note
I'm very proud of the blog girls today. And they probably don't even know why.
This is post 303. That's right, we have over 300 posts here! Nira holds post 300 I believe. So I'm very happy.
But I'm more happy about the fact that you have all blogged in the couple of weeks! Thanks girls!
So that's really all, I love you all very much but I've got some maths homework calling for me.
Keep up the great work Beautifuls!!

SUMMER
Well, spring lasted about 24 hours here. I'm not even joking. It snowed like six inches (15 centimetres) last weekend, and this weekend it's 70 degrees out (21 degrees celcius) I'm wearing shorts, helping my mother in the garden, and biking. I biked ten miles today. (16.1 kilometres). It felt good.
Wow. Just realized that there's a lot of conversions there.
Anyway, cool stuff is happening. The Horse Expo's at the state fairgrounds right now. That means lots of pretty horses to see and lots of expensive horse equipment that I can't afford.
Only about 7 weeks left until summer holidays!
Best Wishes,
Rose

Holiday Marathons
So earlier today I realised how much TV I've watched in just under two weeks.
2 seasons of Merlin.
1/2 a season of Supernatural
1/2 a season of Torchwood
Rewatched multiple Doctor Who episodes and the new eps.
Rewatched a season of Sherlock
Iron Man
Iron Man 2
The Incredible Hulk
Thor
The Avengers
Escape from planet Earth
Warm Bodies (Doesn't really count, I didn't pay attention.)
The Croods
plus special features of a lot
And that's just the stuff I can remember.
So if I add that up...
Thats just under 66 hours of TV.
Hey, not as bad as I thought. Though when you take into consideration I sleep for about 10 hours a day.
Starting from the beginning of the holidays, midnight of the first Saturday (as in midnight between Friday and Saturday).
(This is an approximation)
Total time: 336 Hours
Sleep: 144 Hours
TV: 66 Hours
Internet: 76 Hours
Other: 50 Hours.
Dude! What were those other hours? I actually had a social life? Sweet!!!
Anyway, that's my holidays for anyone who is interested.

I'm Sorry Zara
Hi
As Zara mentioned in her last post, she was over at my new house and I fell asleep on her. I'm extremely sorry. Really.
Oh, and I had some very excellent Indian food for lunch.
I think that's all for tonight.
Nira out.
I CAN WALK
It's occured to me that's how I start most of my posts. But I digress from the title.
Yes ladies and, well, ladies(?), I can walk again! Despite the fact that after I blogged on Sunday, I hobbled upstairs to have a shower and then had to crawl back to the lounge, crying in pain. I am not exaggerating. And then I had to go to work with it strapped, and then explain to my boos why I needed to go and restrap my ankle during my shift because it had slipped. Fun times.
The end of the holidays is drawing near and so a new term looms upon us Down Under. This means back to homework, assignments, classes and packed lunches. It also means GWO is back, Crossfire is back, extra French is back, among other things, so we will be busy little bees. Though hopefully the bees will stay away from us at lunch time so we can eat instead of turning into weeping angels, you know, only when it's not looking.
Not much has been happening, the holidays are like that. I've seen Nira's new house, although there was a distinct lack of internal walls, we went to the Dawn Service, that was cold and then Nira fell asleep at about 8:15 in the morning. So I rode home.Well done dear! I actually came home, had a shower, played wii for a while and then went to bed. I was even provided with chocolate! Thanks Mum!!
Okey dokey, that's all for now.
Have a good weekend.

So... I've been learning to drive. Woo!
It's probably different from how y'all learned to drive. First of all, I sit on the left and drive on the right of the road.
Second of all, I'm learning to use a manual transmission (aka stick shift.)
And let me tell you, it's HARD. I've been practicing for weeks and I can't even get into gear reliably.
Anyway, that's just one thing happening in my life at the moment.
So much for Blog Blitz 2013.
Miss y'all.
Best Wishes,

Supernatural has taken over my life.
What happened to everyone having their own greeting? No one does that anymore except maybe Nira and me.
Anyways, at lunch today, my friend and I were trying to describe Supernatural to a friend.
What we came up with was:
99.99999999% of the characters have Daddy issues (or in some cases Mommy issues. Or both.)
Think about it.
I won't provide a list of characters with parental problems here because many of those would constitute spoilers.
But seriously. My friend and I came up with like two characters sans parental problems. And they were parents themselves with screwed up children.
Best Wishes,
Rose

All Things Nerdy
Hello my pretties
I felt that it was time for me to blog once more. Today my post will be on the awesomeness that is...
...
...
...
....
Not Literally
Not Literally is a performance group who can be found on YouTube. They mainly do awesome parodies, with four Harry Potter songs, one Hunger Games and one Doctor Who, along with this thing called 'Ask Hogwarts' in which people send in questions that get answered buy the stereotypical person from each house. I've sent in a question and hopefully it will be answered, so keep an eye out for that.
Anywho

Needles and Ankles
While Rose is fighting an invasion of chickens, I'm not able to walk or stand for extended periods of time. I've hurt my ankle, goodness knows how, and it's making my life fun.
Today is my brother's 15th birthday and instead of being ridiculous and mucking around, I've been pretty much confined to the lounge because of my inability to walk. Poor kid actually had to get something for me and now I can't help with dinner. Curses. However, this ankle meant no work. Not sure if that's good or bad.
Now onto part two of the blog, needles. Now before anyone freaks out, no, I have not been given shoots. Do you really think I'd allow that sort of nonsense? No, my needles are more of the craft variety. In the last week I have turned an old denim skirt into a shoulder bag and used ties for the strap, I think it's pretty funky (Am I the only one to use the word funky?). I've also knitted myself arm warmers, though one of them is shorter than the other, apparently 40 is not the same as 46. I'm currently knitting a matching beanie. The armers (arm warmers when my fingers can't keep up with my brain) are bright green and the beanie is the same green with white. It looks so cool!! After I finish my hat, I'm making Enesti TARDIS blue armers and then Rose dark blue ones. If Nira or Hazel would like some, choose a colour and let me know!
Okey dokey, that's all for now. Love you loads, miss you heaps... That's what I said in emails from France.
Have a good week!

Sick
I am sick right now.
The tiny chickens invaded my skull overnight on Tuesday.
At maybe the worst possible time.
This week was officially named "Hell Week" by me.
We had standardized tests on Tuesday and Wednesday. They were easy reading tests, but still important because Universities look at them and also I've gotten perfect scores on them every year since year 3 when you start taking them and I don't think I did perfectly this year, so on the official records, I get negative achievement. It's a stupid system also it was invented by a certain president who was president before this one that nobody likes.
I am also sick of the weather. It's snowy and supposed to snow more this weekend.
THIS IS NOT NORMAL.
Since we moved here 16 years ago, it has snowed in April maybe once or twice. But "Snow in April" means a few flakes that soon turn into rain and don't accumulate.
NOT EFFING WINTER WONDERLAND.
So that pretty much sucks because I haven't seen green grass since December.
Also, Day of Silence was yesterday. I organized it for my school. Yep never doing that again except I'll probably do it next year and the year after that anyways but HOLY CRAP it was like herding cats with an extra touch of dramatic, tearful, sh*t storms.
Enough complaining. It's finally the weekend!
Best Wishes,
Rose.

Fail Blog Return
So I realised that I was doing really well at blogging... then I just stopped. So I'm back after the failed attempt at returning in the first place, let's hope it goes better this time.
Watching Merlin... really enjoying it. I watched all of season 1 yesterday, that was good.
I have a friend from college coming round at 3:30 to escape her brother's party. OH That reminds me. Down Under girls, do any of you have a house I can refuge in on the Saturday bight before school goes back, over night preferably. It would be so very appreciated.
Thats all really.

Holidays!!
I'm very proud of the blog blitz girls, let's try to keep something similar up shall we?
So I'm holidays now, yes I am not going to my last two classes, I'm going to KYCK at 12, I went to Chemistry, second highest mark in the class on the test. :)
My cat tried to get into the fridge this morning, can I hear a weird cat please? I think she's sleeping in the washing now. I should probably remove her, I'll do that after I finish this post.
My fingernails are very bright colours right now, rather pleased with myself. Last time I painted them, they were navy, so it's very different, they're pretty funky now.
Nira, I'm sorry I left you all alone for recess and lunch! It's not my fault dearest Hazel isn't going to school, it's not her fault either really... We love you anyway!!
Ok, I'm being picked up in about 40 minutes so I'd better deal with my cat and remove the yellow nail polish from my knuckles.
Have a brilliant holidays Down Under girls, I'm fairly certain Rose is still at school, good luck with that!
Lots of Love Zara.

I don't know what this is
So as I write this I'm skyping with Rose and scrolling through Tumblr.
I just watched the new Doctor Who early. Loved it.
So I have an audition tomorrow for the school musical, should work on that. Or I should write another Trock song... I'm going to go do something productive.
Love you all
Bye!

Studying and Procrastination
So I had two of my four exams today. Legal studies and Psychology. Maths and English are tomorrow... ew
The exams went well I guess, Leag was kinda easy and Psych was alright.
In light of my large workload and my poor studying this term I am highly considering deactivating my facebook account. Yes you may be thinking:
Woah hold up there Enesti, your life is facebook.
And in response I say, 'Yes reader who knows I spend a load of time just randomly refreshing my facebook, it's a shock I know.'
But Enesti, what will you do with your time?
School work dear reader, thats the point.
Yes so I am highly considering leaving the world of facebook for at least term 2.

Band
Just a quick note to the Down Under girls.
If you do read this before tonight, Just letting you know I'm not going to rehearsal tonight... Exam revision.
That is all. I'm off to make a maths cheat sheet.

Murder for a good cause
So... I killed a mouse today.
Well, I didn't kill it. I just watched as it was lowered into a box filled with dry ice and listened until it stopped moving and then harvested its organs.
I may or may not have mentioned, but I work at the University Stem Cell Institute every Tuesday. It's an independent study for Biology. My project is that I take the hearts of a special kind of genetically modified mouse and look at them under a microscope to see if there are any stem cells.
This is a tiny contribution to a really important field of research: No one is certain that there is such a thing as Stem Cells in the adult heart. That's why a heart failure can damage you for the rest of you life: your heart can't re grow the cells that died. If heart stem cells are found, a cure for heart failure could be developed and tons of lives could be saved.
In the mean time, I will be killing mice every week and slicing up their hearts. I think I'm in favor of using mice for research, generally speaking: you can genetically modify them and they'll still live as good or better a life as any mouse, until they are painlessly killed. I think it's kind of noble of them to sacrifice their lives.
But watching a terrified mouse die is really hard.
I'm just going to knuckle down and do it. What do you girls think?
Best Wishes!

Physics and Chemistry
So I have a physics test in 45 minutes, and I can't really keep studying for it because I've written my reference sheet, done all the set questions and it's starting to seem futile.
I have chemistry test tomorrow, so I could study for that, in fact I should study for that. No reference sheet for that one and I have to go somewhere tonight so I should do that.
Instead I am blogging and our friend, Patience, is distracting me with poetry and re-writes of Rapunzel, crazy cat people FTW!!
Yeah, not much point behind this, I'm pretty bored today.
STAY AWAY RAIN!!
And long division is now referred to as a bizarre dance routine, and I am going back to work now!

P.S. Someone please find the little authors, the comment they left spammed my email several times.

Crying my eyes out
Hi all
I've just finished reading Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare I have been crying my eyes out for the last centimeter and a half or so of the book.
It was beautiful and intense and sad and wonderful and amazing.
It's the last book in the series, and the end was incredibly well written.
In other news, I have a giant fly who wants to suck out my soul in my bedroom so I'm not going to be getting much sleep tonight. Unless one of the Avengers decides to stand guard *swoons*.
Night all
Nira out.
Nerd Confessions #Whatever We're Up To and Life
Wow it's been a long time since I typed that... Well Hey, I'm back
So in my list of nerd confessions...
#1. Sherlock.
I finished season 1 and 2. I am now desperately waiting for season 3.
No I don't ship romantic Johnlock, I'm sorry actually no I don't have to apologise, I don't ship it romantically I ship it platonically. Love the show so much, my friends from college got me into it and wow... so much fangirling.
#2. Supernatural.
Part way through season 1, frickin terrified if I watch it after dark...
It's amazing and I'm a Dean girl, I have a friend or two who prefer Sam but no, Dean. The plot is awesome, I love how at this stage you don't need to have watched the previous episodes to understand what's going on. The humor of the characters is amazing and I love how comfortable the actors are in their roles.
#3. Doctor Who.
Watched the new episode.
Wow, it was awesome, I've already watched it twice. Even though I enjoyed it, I did have one or two things I wasn't as happy with. One, the Wi-Fi? It wasn't even that scary it just ended up with me being annoyed with friends who kept saying they didn't know where they were... anyway. Two, The Doctor didn't travel to the 'tomorrow' at the end..... ARGH. But other than that... I loved it, I love the new outfit and I'm starting to like the new TARDIS...
#4. Tumblr.
I've joined the world of Tumblr.
All I am going to say about it is

The rest of my life is going well. College is good, made some nerdy friends who are awesome. Missing the rest of my girls.
Hope to see you all here on the blog again soon. <3

Nerdfighters and Doctor Who
Appears we're tag-teaming with our blog posts. Thanks Ni and Rose for posting!!
I'm not going to talk about particular books/games/movies etc. I do enough of that on my other blog. But I am going to talk about some stuff.
So after we met Rosie she introduced me and possibly Enesti to the vlogbrothers. And now I quite happily watch their videos, that was fine. Until I got into the other video stuff they make. I now also watch CrashCourse, particularly the history ones but I'm taking chem at school so I'm going to start watching those ones, Brainscoop, because what isn't cool about a museum full of dead things, and The Lizzie Bennett Diaries, WHICH ARE FINISHED!!! I'm just going to sob in a corner for a bit now. But it's alright, there's going to be another adaptation soonish, not that I know what it is, this is what I get for watching these things on my iPod or phone, in video links do not work.
While I'm being nerdy and all that, WHO WATCHED DOCTOR WHO LAST NIGHT????? Was it not brilliant?? I really think I'm going to like this series. Of course the Doctor has a case for his bow tie, monks are not cool, sorry guys, and now as I'm using the wifi, I'm a little nervous. But, that's what makes a good episode. I'm going to confess that even though my dad and I are Whovians, we actually haven't seen the Christmas special. Now before you all get outraged and refuse to read what I post anymore, hear me out. I went to France this summer and so I wasn't here of Christmas, Dad wanted to watch it with me so he hadn't seen it. We realised this yesterday and ran out of time to watch it, so I can only guess what we're doing tonight.
And now I am off to eat breakfast and re-read Percy Jackson and the Lightening Thief!
Love Zara
Nerd Confessions #2
Nira's last post inspired me. I think we should all follow suit and talk about nerdy things we recently got into.
My latest thing? Game of Thrones.
If you don't know, Game of Thrones is a series of books by George R. R. Martin. (What is up with high fantasy authors and having "R. R." as their middle initials?)
Anyway, the books take place in a fictional world with lots of kings and knights and castles and stuff. The story centers around a noble house called the Starks of Winterfell. Stark is their family name. Winterfell is the land they rule over. The plot sort of grows from three major places: power in the kingdom, this girl named Daenerys who is the banished princess of the kingdom, and dark, threatening creatures that live north of the Wall that separates the kingdom from the northern wilderness.
The action is both emotional, political, and physical. I like how it's very complex and nothing's black and white.
I've also been warned not to like any of the characters because they're all going to die. I guess that counts as a spoiler, but oh well. If my friends up here spoiled it for me, I guess I can spoil it for y'all.
But it's no use. I get very attached to characters. I also like it when characters die. I'm part way through the second book and I have a kill list of all the best characters.
Except one.
His name is Jon Snow. He's the bastard son of Lord Eddard Stark of Winterfell. And I most definitely do not have a crush on him.
The thing about Game of Thrones is that even though it has an interesting plot, there's lots of gratuitous sex and violence in there for no apparent reason. It's also super sexist and pretty much always shows women in a bad light. If a woman is ugly, there is no way for her to be feminine. If she's feminine, she's either a whore or weak or both. So I feel sort of bad for enjoying these books.
Something I find interesting is the historical parallels it draws. I recently read a book about the 14th century in Europe, and it talked a lot about politics and war. One thing I learned is that the peasants always got the worst of it: taxed into oblivion, pillaged, murdered, and raped, etc. And there is plenty of rape and pillage in GoT, but very little taxing. Also, the peasants rose up against their overlords every other decade. That hasn't happened so far. The books really hold true to the myth that the only important actors in a kingdom are the great nobles.
But I highly recommend that you read these books. Just remember to think critically about them. And maybe not discuss them with children under the age of 13.
Girls, Nira has started something. What sort of stuff have you gotten into recently that you didn't expect to?
Best Wishes,
Rose.
