Hiding Under The Table

Hi Everyone,

I'm not hiding under the table at the moment, that was my dog who was eating cat food. He's a kibble thief. It's a surprisingly effective hiding place for a small dog.

So us Down Under Girls are finally on winter holidays. Nira's away, Enesti's busy and I have no clue what Hazel's up to. This is only because she was sick on the last day of term. Not my fault!

So what have you been up to dear Zara you ask. Really, not much. I've had work (babysitting) twice, and have more tomorrow and Monday. My room looks like I robbed the library but I assure you I borrowed all of those books in a completely legit way. I made brownies with more chocolate in them than you find in Coco Black and I've watched all the episodes of "The Latest Buzz" It's been a pretty intense 4 days.

So it's the 13th of July. Yes, I know it's Friday the 13th but that superstition has nothing on me. On this day last year, Hazel, Nira and I went to the midnight screening of the final Harry Potter movie. It was an awesome experience. It's kinda sad to think that was a year ago. I celebrated by wearing my Hufflepuff scarf, Weasley jumper and Gryffindor Seeker shirt, which is green... It's weird.

I was going to say something else but I have no clue what it was. This is never a good sign. Oh, Chamber of Secrets is out on Pottermore but the internet had a tantrum and it crashed so I'm going back there when I finish this post.

And it looks like the dog is out from under the table so that's my cue to finish up. This is quite a long post by our standards. Girls, remember to blog.

The Land of the Free (or something like that.)

Howdy y'all.

So, this Wednesday was the 4th of July. Did anyone celebrate? I know I didn't.
So, for those who don't know, on the 4th of July 1776, the Founding Fathers (Ben Franklin, George Washington, John Adams, and a bunch of other important dudes in funny wigs) signed the Declaration of Independence, which was this document where they basically said "eff you" to the English monarchy and set up this new country blah blah blah. Anyways, people Up Here celebrate Independence Day by blowing stuff up and barbecuing stuff. I really don't give a buck. But I happened to be visiting relatives in lovely New York. I spent a day in the city and then drove out to the country. (There's more of it than you think. And it's very different form NYC. ) Anyways, we stayed in the big house on a hill in the country side and all but ignored the holiday. (We did light some sparklers, because we could.)

The downside of where we were staying is that there was NO INTERNET and NO CELLPHONE RECEPTION. (Translation: Cellphone= Mobile phone.)

Anyways, I'm back home and there is plenty of internet here. So, main point, when is 'Internet Day?' Because seriously, the Internet is more free than most countries. And it's the government that's trying to censor it, etc., There's a whole sack of dung involved in that, whatever.
Which is luckily a mostly irrelevant sack of dung at the moment, because the EU shot down ACTA recently. WOO!

Girls, I miss all of y'all a lot. People keep complimenting my friendship bracelets. I still have all of them. I'm going to make you guys some from Up Here and then send them. I love you.

Grass Stains

Hi All,

So today we had NAIDOC Day, it's an improvement on what we've done in the past.

During sport, burionjin, I fell over and got a grass stain on my jeans, it's an impressive stain. Unfortunately, the impact with the ground has done some funky thing to my knee, so it hurts.

Little Zara: It's painful.

Little Zara: The library...

Zara: Oh that's ok. My/our room looks like we robbed the library.

Little Zara: Sure does.

Lil' Enesti: NERDS! Lighten up and have a PARTAY!!

Lil' Enesti: Umm, I think I might.

Right.... So, today I -

Lil' E: Today maxi me had Naidoc day at school. There was an interesting guest speaker guy... then she sang some songs, didnt do the sport she was meant to, painted an awesome (not real) turtle and watched some small clips about aborigines and land rights. After school she caught the bus to the interchange, missed her next bus by the smallest amount and ate some chips. Once she was home she played sims till she got bored then she realised she had messages from Zara, she apologised for not replying and then she started blogging.

Howdy y'all.
I couldn't think of a good title.

So, I've had basically the best two weeks of my life. First I found out that Speedy is not only feeling better, but that I could start leasing him. And then I did start leasing him and I rode him on Wednesday and oh my goodness... *takes a moment to enjoy the horsey goodness*

Also, the Supreme Court of the USA passed some major components of Obamacare, and it looks like the US is going to have universal healthcare soon. Not to get too political or anything, but I'm glad we are. For more details, read any American political blog.

Anyways, I'm still enjoying my holiday. I'm going to New York tomorrow, and I'll be gone for a few days. (Not sure how much Internet I'll be having, girls. Sorry.)

Excuse Me While I Fall Asleep

Hi

It's muscial week here. I'm at school. I should actually be taking a nap. And now that I am finished my science work I'm blogging.

The interent at my house is dead. I feel like I have been hit by a truck. I even have the bruises to prove it!

But in all seriousness muscial was amazing last night. Four shows left! The amount of energy last night was awesome! You could almost fell it in the air.

Right, I'm off to take a nap on the library couches now because I have band next and I don't think my head can cope with loud music. Nira and I are going to be VERY quiet in English today.
